Youth of the Year honor goes to two Central students

Springfield Public Schools students Ashley Vann and Timmy Wells were named Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Wednesday, Feb. 19. The pair was selected from a field of 12 students considered for the honor. Eight of them, including Vann and Wells, are students at Central High School.
Each month during 2002, the Boys & Girls Clubs named a Youth of the Month. Following an interview process, two students were selected for the 2002 Youth of the Year award.
In addition to the recognition, Wells and Vann will receive a $6,000 college scholarship.
