Hesser hired by Drury University

Glendale Boys’ Basketball Coach Steve Hesser accepted the head coaching position at Drury University, it was announced Monday. Hesser will replace long-time Panther coach Gary Stanfield, who is retiring at the end of the season.
Hesser came to Glendale in 1999 from Stillwater, OK, where he coached boys’ high school basketball.
His replacement at Glendale will be announced at a later time. Mark Fisher, Springfield Public Schools Athletic Director, said the school is losing “a first class individual,” in Hesser, “and his team displayed that on the floor.”
Glendale’s season ended Friday night with a district finals loss to West Plains.
