LIFT program develops teacher leaders
June 15, 2006

The second class of Leadership Springfield’s LIFT (Leadership is for Teachers) Program began Tuesday, June 13, with a two-day academy and the “Our Community” program on Thursday, June 15.

Twenty-four Springfield Public Schools teachers, librarians and counselors are participating in this year’s program. LIFT is a collaborative effort between Springfield Public Schools, Leadership Springfield and Missouri State University designed to enhance the development of teacher leaders.

LIFT is dedicated to developing community awareness and leadership for educators who teach pre-school through high school. LIFT fosters an open exchange of ideas and best practices among educators and provides networking opportunities between educators and the community.
