Program Profile:

AIMS is designed to address the academic and social needs of grades 6-8. The program serves 40 students.

Program goals are to build self-esteem, work to improve social skills, and improve academic performance through a variety of instructional strategies. Though AIMS provides a behavioral management system, the program is not designed for students with severe behavioral needs. The program offers a safety net for students who struggle academically with persistence to graduation.

Students are received into the program through administrative referral based on deficits in reading and math. Students are encouraged to stay in the program until their skill level allows them to successfully transition back to their home school. Progress is determined by quarterly reading and math performance tests.

Transportation is provided.

Josh did EXTREMELY well at Nationals in Louisville. He improved his state score and shot 278 which ranks him 33rd of the 6th graders, 52nd in elementary and 423rd male overall. 12th best from Missouri – all divisions. There were over 7,000 archers at the national.

Josh, 6th grader from P.V. in the AIMS program, won 2nd place trophy at the Crane Archery Tournament and a 1st place medal at the Willard Archery Tournament! This qualified him to participate in the state NASP tournament (March 24th). He took 3rd in the state with a score of 274. He now has qualified for the National NASP tournament in Louisville, KY on May 11th an 12th where 6,900 students from all over the country compete.

Congratulations Josh!!!!!!!
