Science
The AIMS’ science curriculum is based on 6th - 8th grade Major Instructional Goals, as well as remediation of other science objectives our students have missed along the way. The classes are steeped with hands on activities that require proper lab procedures, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge gained in the class. During the first quarter we look at physics, second quarter we study chemistry, third quarter are subjects from earth science, and fourth quarter includes topics from life science. Along with the regular Major Instructional Goals we will be working on developing organizational skills and learning to use the textbook as a tool for learning. The students’ grades are based on daily participation, successful completion of daily work, test, labs, and attitude. Students bring home weekly grade reports for parents/guardians to sign. The class is designed to foster success and if we all; parents, staff, and students, work together we will help our kids become productive and successful.
