About Our School
History
The original Bissett Elementary was built in 1925 at 1535 North Golden Street, which is now the home of Homeland Baptist Church.
Bissett is named after Mrs. Emma Bissett for her hard work in getting a school for the northwest area of the school
district. In 1950, due to increased enrollment, a new school was constructed at the current location, 3014 West Calhoun Street.
