Bowerman News

  • If you have not seen the new walking track, stop by the playground and check it out!
  • Air Conditioning - Thanks to lots of hard work from so many people, Bowerman is even cooler!  The refreshing air conditioning is being enjoyed by all.
  • New Teachers - We'd like to welcome a new library staff, Sarah Gugliotta, Librarian, and Debbie Strain, Library Aide; a new first grade teacher, Miranda Hagin; a new reading recovery teacher, Leigh Anne Patrick; and a new computer teacher, Jill Foster.  We know you'll love your first year with the Bowerman family.

Homework Help

If you are looking for help with Everyday Math, you can find free algorithm animations online.  Both this sentence and the logo below will take you to the Everyday Math home page.  Then click on the Launch button for "Free Family Resources", "Algorithms in Everyday Mathematics", your student's grade, and what you are working on (addition, subtraction, and so on).  The animation will show you how to do the problems.

Upcoming Events

  • Chuck E. Cheese Night - Thursday, November 19th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Come help raise money for Bowerman Elementary and enjoy pizza, fun, and games!  Be sure to tell them you are with Bowerman.  Wear the reminder stickers from school on Thursday and you'll get an extra 10 tokens!

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Making a Merry Christmas - Would your business, church, or small group want to help us provide Christmas to some of our students?  View our donation letter and form.
  • It is that time of year when we need Homeroom Parents. Would you be able to help out with your child's classroom parties and fun activities like Family Fun night baskets?  If you can, contact your child's teacher.
  • Bowerman could also use classroom volunteers that are willing to read with students, work on math one-on-one or in small-groups, or help with clerical tasks (cutting out lamination, putting up or pulling down bulletin boards, etc.).  If you are interested contact the Bowerman office at 523.1400.
