Cultural Diversity: VIP Reminders for the Senior Year
- Visit all colleges of interest ASAP
- Attend the College Fair in mid-October
- Apply to all colleges of interest early in the year (BEWARE of DEADLINES)
- Write essays if needed. Start collecting letters of recommendation which includes your unique talents.
- Prepare a resume, including community service.
- Prepare a timeline; keep a calendar. (BEWARE OF DEADLINES)
- Do community service work and keep it in a career portfolio if needed.
- Take the ACT: September, October, December, February, April and June if needed
- Take the SAT: October, November, December, January, April, May, and June if needed
- Apply for scholarships all year. Check with your counselor every week (Listen to announcements)
- Complete federal income taxes early in February
- Complete FAFSA before April 1
- Keep up good attendance and grades
- Plan ahead for senior events and expenses
