Parents as Teachers
The Parents as Teachers program helps parents promote a child’s learning at an early age so that the child can begin kindergarten ready to succeed. Parent educators meet with families in their homes from the time of pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Free developmental screenings are also available to children aged 1-5 who live in the SPS attendance area. Families need not be enrolled in Parents as Teachers to take advantage of screening services.

Wonders Years
The Title I Wonder Years Program is a federally funded pre-kindergarten program for four and five year olds who will attend kindergarten the following school year. The purpose of a Title I preschool is to provide educational services for eligible children who are below school age. It is focused on raising the academic achievement of students once they reach school age. Title I preschool programs provide young children with the early learning experiences that will enable them to meet academic standards throughout elementary and secondary school.
