Music Teacher: Kim Cavener
Mrs. Cavener is a native of Springfield and is proud to be from the Ozarks! She decided at an early age to pursue music as a career and today she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Vocal Performance, a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from MSU, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Instructional Leadership through Lindenwood University. Mrs. Cavener’s teaching experience spans over two decades and includes elementary and secondary music instruction in the public schools, adjunct music faculty member at MSU, private voice/piano instruction, and serving as a director in The Children’s Choirs of Southwest Missouri. Her musical career has included performing as a professional vocalist, accompanist, and choral director in a variety of settings, however her greatest passion is sharing the gift of music with children! In addition to teaching, she also enjoys serving the congregation of Praise Assembly as their Sanctuary Choir Director!
“I look so forward to sharing the gift of music with the students at Harrison Elementary and Wilson’s Creek in the upcoming year! There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students expressing themselves through the arts for that’s when we get to see who they really are!” Kim Cavener
