ECSE Teacher: Nancy Fast

As we are all looking forward to moving and getting settled into Harrison School, I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Nancy Fast and I have been teaching special needs students since 1975. This is my sixteenth year in Early Childhood Special Education, and my twentieth year in Springfield Public Schools. I taught for six years and was an administrator for two years during my tenure in Wichita. Before Wichita, I taught Pre-vocational Special Education for six years in Denver. I completed my Masters in Education at Drury University in 1994. My son, Brady, is 24 and my daughter, Dustie, is 21. Dustie is a Para at Shady Dell in the ECSE Autistic Classroom. My husband, Ron, is a custom picture framer at Fast Frames and Gallery in Springfield. We live in Highlandville with acreage for our six dogs. Besides being an animal lover, I also bead, scrapbook, take hundreds of pictures, and spend hours creating my flower gardens! I feel a classroom should be colorful and cheerful where children will be proud to be. My expectations for the children are to seek their fullest potential and I will be there to help and encourage them in any way I can. I'm looking forward to a fun year of learning in our new school!
