Junior Kindergarten
What: A pre-K tuition based full day program for 4 year olds (currently housed at Field Elementary) which focuses on kindergarten readiness. Curriculum content includes discovery play which emphasizes reading, writing, science, math, social skills, music, and creative arts. The class will be taught by a fully certified, SPS kindergarten teacher. She will be assisted by a full-time aide.
Who: Children who will be 4 years old on or before July 31, 2009, are eligible for the program. Children must be fully potty trained. Class size will be limited to 16 children. Out of the 16 spots, only 3 full time spots remain in Junior Kindergarten. If you're wanting to sign up, please give Julee Curry a call today.
Where: The pre-K program will be housed at David Harrison Elementary, which will open August, 2009.
When: This program follows the Springfield Public Schools calendar. First day of class will be August 25, 2009. Hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Tuition Fee: Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year will be $595 per month for 5 days a week, $415 for 3 days a week, and $290 for 2 days a week. Tuition is paid September through May.
