Classroom Teacher: Mrs. Lowe

Hello!I am so excited to be a part of the teaching team at David Harrison Elementary!I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (2004), and a Master's Degree in Reading (2009), both from Missouri State University. Prior to coming to Harrison when the school opened in 2009, I taught at Bissett Elementary in northwest Springfield for three years, and then at Wanda Gray Elementary for one year. This school year is my seventh year of teaching kindergarten. I have been trained in the Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Model, Continuous Quality Improvement, eMints For All, and a number of other programs. I am a life-long learner, and I love engaging in new learning that helps me to become a better teacher. I feel lucky every day because I can honestly say I love my job!
I look forward to coming to school each day to see what new learning will take place for my students!I feel very fortunate to get to be a part of each child's first year of formal education, where I can help instill in children a love for learning. My favorite part of teaching kindergarten is seeing students realize they have become readers and writers!Watching the growth that takes place from the beginning of the year to the end of the year is truly amazing.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bob, and our dog, Paige (a seven year-old Pointer Mix). Bob and I are expecting our first baby in April!
I feel very fortunate to teach at the best school in town!
