Parker McKenna
Director of Human Resources

Parker McKenna is responsible for development and implementation of the components of the District's strategic plan which relate to Human capital, including the recruitment, selection and retention of high quality talent to serve the District's students. Paker works with the District's principals and other supervisors to ensure quality work environments and consistent application of District policy.

Denise Voorhees
Administrative Assistant

Denise Voorhees assists the HR team with a variety of tasks, including teacher of the month, teacher of the year and the District Telephone Station List. Denise also serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources.

Shane Wagoner
Manager, Employment and Labor Relations

Shane Wagoner manages processes related to the employment life cycle including recruitment, selection, on-boarding, retention, performance management, and separation. Provides support to the labor relations process including negotiations, and contract administration. Also performs various other functions as they relate to the District’s Human Resources.

Deanna Hawkins

Deanna Hawkins is responsible for the successful deployment of processes related to the certificated employment life cycle, and works closely with members of the leadership team to ensure that the district attracts and selects the highest level of talent possible. Deanna also coordinates HR processes related to the selection and recruitment of certificated staff.

Samantha Scobee

Samantha Scobee is responsible for the successful deployment of processes related to the classified employment life cycle, and works closely with members of the leadership team and applicants for employment to ensure that the district attracts and selects the highest level of talent possible. Samantha also coordinates HR processes related to the selection and recruitment of classified staff. 

Marsha Bishop

Marsha Bishop is responsible for the processing of transactions related to the employment of certificated staff.  She assists in the District's effort to ensure the retention of highly qualified staff by maintaining certification status and related information. 

Laura Mothersead

Laura Mothersead is responsible for the processing of transactions related to the employment of classified staff.  In addition, she maintains information related to the District's classified collective bargaining units.  Laura is also responsible for the maintenance of the Human Resources website.

Amber Salsman

Amber Salsman conducts internal compliance and coordinates external regulatory investigations for the purpose of ensuring quality work environments which consistently support the District’s desire to be an employer of choice. Amber also provides internal support to other HR functions as they relate to compliance, and employee relations.

Beth Kirkpatrick

Beth Kirkpatrick is responsible for the provision of Tier 1 human resource services to Springfield Public Schools employees and applicants for employment.  Beth is the primary point of contact in the resolution, escalation, or re-direction of inquiries to the Human Resources Department.

Kim Surratt

Kim Surratt provides customer services to employees in issues relating to the health plan, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, wealth management, and voluntary benefits.  Kim processes enrollments and changes as they relate to the District’s benefit plans.

Abigail Palmer

Abigail Palmer provides customer service to District employees in issues related to family and medical leave, absence management, life and long-term disability insurances.  She also provides information related to the health plan, dental and voluntary benefits coverages.

Jill Templeton
District Information Center

Jill Templeton provides customer service to those who visit the Kraft Administrative Center. She resolves requests for tier 1 human resources support for employees and applicants who request in-person service. Jill also serves all facilities by managing the District’s main switchboard and directing incoming calls.
