Submit a Good News! or Celebration item

District employees who wish to suggest a person or event for a news release or celebration should submit the following information to the Community Relations office at communications@spsmail.org or call 523-0050.

The Community Relations office will attempt to post a news release or note of celebration on all items submitted. Decisions will be based on timeliness, newsworthiness and clarity of information provided below.

Construction Update

Construction of Harrison Elementary School should be substantially complete in June. Throughout the summer, finishing touches such as playground equipment, kitchen fixtures and classroom furniture will be installed. Elementary registration and a "sneak peak" event will be held at the school Tuesday, Aug 11. View the school's web page for photos of the progress.

Quarterly Report Highlight

The latest Quarterly Report on district goal indicators and measures is now available for inspection. Highlights in this report - the second this fiscal year – include the latest on improvements being made in ACT composite scores and graduation rates. There’s new information on how our teacher pay compares with regional districts, student attendance and academic performance. View the report.
