School Profile:
- We are a neighborhood school where students, parents and teachers know each another by name. With an enrollment of about 296 students in pre-K through fifth grade, our school makes students feel safe and supported.
- Parent involvement and community pride is evident at Pittman. Many families have attended our school for multiple generations.
- Before- and after-school clubs and programs such as YMCA Prime Time, walking club, cup stacking, tae kwon do, scouts, mad science, music and art opportunities provide students with options outside the classroom.
- Title I federal funding gives additional resources for teachers and students and provides intervention and support programs. Wonder Years preschool program and reading and math support are available to qualifying students.
- Our student-teacher ratio of 21 to 1 enables teachers to provide individual attention and support for each student to ensure they reach their full academic potential.
- Instructional technology is employed in K-5 classrooms. eMINTS is a strong technology program that provides one computer for every two students in fifth-grade classrooms.
- Our Missouri Assessment Program scores are consistently above state and district averages. We were a Missouri Top 10 School in communication arts in 2002 and 2003 and a district Accomplished School in 2002 and 2005.
