Mrs. Downs' Kindergarten Class

Welcome to our classroom! My name is Cassie Downs and it has always been my dream to teach. I have three children of my own and live just west of Springfield. I believe a person should live every day as if it were the last and never take family for granted for it is God’s most precious gift. A person can never say “I love you” too many times because you might not get another chance.   

I love teaching at Robberson. This is my 5th year, but my first time in a split classroom. I have taught Kindergarten the past four years and believe it is the place where all of the seeds for learning are planted. You will never see as much learning take place in one year as you will see in kindergarten. The world is still fresh and new and everything is an adventure. I was blessed to have several of my kindergarten students roll up with me. It is a blessing to watch them blossom for one more year.

Our class is a special environment in which each child learns at his/her own pace. We value each other’s individualities andchallenge ourselves to always treat each other like treasure - never like trash. It is our mission to learn in an assortment of ways so that we can grow together. We know that education is a journey and we each walk at our own pace. We will strive to be at our next grade level one “footprint” at a time!
