Dr. Kevin Huffman has been the principal of Robberson Elementary for 11 years. He and Muggs love coming to school every day to work with the kids and teachers. This school and neighborhood hold a special place in his heart as he has watched so many of these kids grow up!

Dr. Huffman has been an educator for nearly 20 years. He serves as a representative to the Springfield Council or PTAs and is a member of the North Springfield Betterment Association. Dr. Huffman is very involved with the C.A.R.E.S. program, which provides training of service and therapy dogs for professional and educational environments. Thus his relationship with Muggs! Additionally, Dr. Huffman was recognized in 2005 by the American Red Cross as their "Everyday Hero" in the area of education. 

Dr. Huffman is from the Springfield and Willard area. After graduating from Willard High School, he attended Evangel University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in music education. Dr. Huffman earned both a Master's degree and a Specialists Degree from Missouri State University before receiving his Doctorate of Educational Administration from Lindenwood University in 2009.

In his free time, Dr. Huffman is very active in both the children and music departments of his church, as well as involved with Embracing Life Outdoors (ELO) - a not-for-profit organization with the mission of taking inner-city children camping. These activities enable him to combine his faith, prior musical training, love for children with his passion for camping and the outdoors.

Dr. Huffman and his wife, Mary Beth are blessed to be the parents of Ashton, age nine, and Aaron, age six. They enjoy outdoor activities and going to amusement parks together!
