“Robberson Elementary is grounded in history and reaching for the future.”
Robberson is more than a building. It is a neighborhood. A community. A family.
Robberson elementary is a stately structure on Springfield's north side. The original building was erected in 1905 and still houses a majority of the classrooms. Growth in the neighborhood and commitment to education led to the construction of three additions: offices and classrooms in 1930, a multi-purpose room, kitchen and classrooms in 1954, and a library media center in 1992. In 2002 Pepperdine elementary was closed and the majority of those students were included in Robberson School.
Robberson is currently in an exciting period of growth and change. The introduction of community programs and activiteis is creating a unified community. New, approaches in instruction are having a positive impact on student achievement and performance. Robberson's 280 students are grounded in history and reaching for the future.
Robberson school has been on the school closing list twice in the last 10 years and both times families and community have come out in great support and have kept the school open. Robberson students, parents, community, make us a great school.
